Manufacturers Maintenance Recommendations

DESCRIPTION - A flammable rubber resin solution adhesive

which withstands normal carpet cleaning techniques and is easily

applied through an adjustable spray nozzle.

USES - For bonding a wide range of materials but particularly

suitable for spot sticking carpet tiles (except PVC backed types)

and for perimeter fixing of rubber foam backed carpets. It is

suitable for use on most common subfloors but not suitable on

fully flexible vinyl floorcoverings.

STANDARDS - When used to install carpets or carpet tiles, all

aspects of the installation should be in accordance with the

requirements of BS5325 (Installation of Textile Floorcoverings)

and supplementary specifications.

PREPARATION - Surfaces must be sound, smooth, dry and free

from grease, dust, paint, polish or any contaminants which may

prevent adhesion.

Asphalt and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes must be

skimmed with at least 3mm of the appropriate smoothing

underlayment.

For best results the surfaces should be between 10°C and 20°C.

DAMP BASES - Treat damp subfloors with STOPGAP waterproof

surface membranes.

SMOOTHING - Use STYCCOSCREED or STOPGAP smoothing

underlayments.

CLEANING - Use STYCCOCLEAN C140 Floor Cleaner for

removing grease, oil, polish, soap, etc.

APPLICATION - Select the spray pattern required by turning the

adjustable aerosol nozzle. Holding the can 120mm-175mm away

from the surface, apply an even coat of adhesive to both

surfaces. Allow the adhesive to become tacky (1-3 minutes) then

press the two surfaces together firmly.

N.B. Very absorbent surfaces may require two coats of adhesive.

After use - Invert can, press plunger to expel small amount of

propellant to clear nozzle of adhesive.
