The Brief
A corporate client in the City of London approached Loughton Direct to upgrade flooring across six large tea point areas within their office. The existing ceramic tiles were hard underfoot and contributed to increased noise levels in busy communal spaces.
The client wanted a flooring solution that felt warmer and quieter, while ensuring the works could be delivered with minimal disruption to normal business operations.

Following a site assessment, Loughton Direct proposed replacing the ceramic tiles with a luxury vinyl tile that would improve the comfort and acoustic issues. Shaw Contract’s Nordic 5mm LVT was the vinyl of choice, as it ticked the boxes for durability, aesthetic and was suited for high levels of foot traffic.
Rather than attempting to complete all areas at once, a phased programme was adopted to minimise disruptions in the building. These works were all meticulously planned and delivered over 6 consecutive weekends, allowing each tea point to be completed individually with the office remaining fully functional Monday to Friday.

This gave the client a consistent upgrade across the tea point areas without any downtime or logistical challenges that come with closing off a building.

By combining phased delivery with a durable LVT finish from Shaw, the client now has an upgraded tea point that is quieter, and easier to maintain.
